The T.K.M College of Engineering was crystallized in form and substance in 1956 and Dr.N.Rajendra Prasad, the first President of Independent India, laid the foundation stone.
The college is located at Kilikollur, a beautiful suburb of the historic coastal town of Kollam on the Kollam Schenkotta Highway (NH208) and is easily accessible by road and rail, being 6 km away from the Quilon Railway Station & the KSRTC Bus station. Trivandrum airport is 70 Km away.
Electrical & Electronics Engineering was one among the three disciplines initially offered when the college was established. The department has brought forth several quality engineers since then. The department has been conducting an annual national level symposium for the past 3 years.

2. Kurukshetra (Public Debate): The confluence of ideas and cross roads of opinions finds a new venue-TKMCE Bhavah’07 invites you with an open mind to witness burning social issues of the day being discussed over by preselected eminent personalities.
3. Drishya (Campus Movie): Maybe there are Speilbergs and Coppolas amongst Engineering students. That is what we intend to find out.
